Parental Complex PTSD

In a project funded by Combat Stress, the University of Bath, Kings College Centre for Military Health Research, UK Psychological Trauma Society, European Psychological Trauma Studies, our team, partners and those with lived and living experience will be co-creating a bibliotherapy e-storybook to support children with parents who have complex-PTSD (C-PTSD).

C-PTSD is a challenging in families, and especially challenging for children growing up with a family member who has this condition.

You can find out more about C-PTSD here.

While there are resources for those with the condition, there is a lack of age appropriate resources for children who live in families where C-PTSD is present. The e-storybook resource is only for those children who are experiencing these issues at home. The storybook is not for group or general classroom use. It is a bibliotherapy for one-to-one therapy.

The e-storybook includes accompanying modules to strengthen the knowledge, skills and confidence of parents, support workers, and clinicians to support these children.
