Einar Thorsteinsson was born in Iceland and grew up in the capital city Reykjavik where he attended school and university. He moved to Melbourne Australia in 1994 to study further, completing a PhD in psychology. He then moved to Armidale in regional NSW raising his family there. Einar's first language was Icelandic then learning Danish and English in school. You can learn to say 'hello' (halló), 'goodbye' (bless), and 'see you later' (sjáumst seinna) in Icelandic by listening to Einar below.

    • More activities for children related to the story More activities for children related to the story

At the end of the story, there are two pages of activities for children to enjoy by themselves, or with parents, educators or support workers. Here are twelve more.

    • Personalised storybook templates

These templates are designed for parents/carers (or older siblings), educators or family workers to assist children in creating a personalised story that is an adapted version of the storybook in this module. To do this, you can:

      • change the text as needed
      • add photos
      • add children's drawings,
      • add decorations (e.g. collage materials (please avoid glitter for environmental reasons), including leaves, dried flowers, and feathers).

Read the finished storybook with your child(ren) often, then ask them to help you tell the story as you show relatives and friends (in person or via a video call).
