Research showed that many children and absent parents struggle to maintain a fresh relationship when the parent is away for an extended period of time. These multi-aged books are designed to create some ongoing projects that can be started while the parent is at home and continued during the parent’s absence. The books are designed to be used with an adult with young children. If the child is school-aged and a confident reader then some parts of the books may be done independently. Having the at-home parent or carer assist with projects will mean they are more likely to continue and flourish. The books are designed to start rich conversations between parents and children that extend children's thinking and vocabulary.

The photos need to be either owned by you or donated by someone, or from royalty-free sites e.g. Pixabay or Unsplash. If you are using Flikr Creative Commons, they then need to be referenced with the appropriate Creative Commons reference, so royalty-free is easier.
