Dr Fran Quinn is the audio reader for the interactive eBook. Fran grew up in Canberra, ACT. She attended school and university there. . Her father was in the merchant navy. She worked as a scientist with CSORO in Canberra as a botanist (plant scientist). She later trained to be a science school teacher and taught secondary school science in rural NSW. She then taught science at university and then did her PhD in science education. She works as a pre-service teacher educator at UNE and researches in the field of science education.

Donna Moodie is the video reader for this story. She is from the Kamilaroi Nation in NSW. Donna was born in Gunnedah, a rural town in north-western NSW and has a sister and a brother. Some of Donna's uncles and great uncles served in the Army, as did many Indigenous Australians. Donna attended school in Gunnedah and then went to university in Toowoomba. She has taught at other universities and now teaches at UNE where she is studying for her PhD. Donna has two adult children who loved their time in the cadets, and she now has two grandchildren. In the Kamilaroi language, 'yaama' is a general greeting. You can learn how to say the greeting, which can be used for 'hello' and 'goodbye' in Kamilaroi, the Aboriginal language of her area.

Personalised storybook templates
These templates are designed for parents/carers (or older siblings), educators or family workers to assist children in creating a personalised story that is an adapted version of the storybook in this module. To do this, you can:
- change the text as needed
- add photos
- add children's drawings,
- add decorations (e.g. collage materials (please avoid glitter for environmental reasons), including leaves, dried flowers, and feathers).
Read the finished storybook with your child(ren) often, then ask them to help you tell the story as you show relatives and friends (in person or via a video call). -
